Catalogue note
A fabulous example of a Japanese Ivory Okimono from the Meiji period (1868-1920)
It is of a good size being 16.5 cm tall, highly detailed and exquisitely carved.
In very good condition. There is a small service crack (which is normal in old ivory) on the top of the head but this isn't obvious and doesn't detract from the overall piece.
Signed verso.
