Catalogue note
A 19th Century oil on canvas of The Madonna and Child.
Possibly Italian, it is housed in the original wooden gilt stucco frame. There are a few small losses to the frame but nothing major. The canvas has allover crackling commensurate with age but no paint losses. The colours are still vibrant and the piece is very finely painted
Overall a good, pleasing and authentic religious painting.
Canvas measures 36cm X 30cm
Framed it measures 54cm X 49cm
Circa 1860
